Accounting & Financial Reporting Advisory Manager | Director | Managing Director
MVA International Headhunters is partnering with a leading global financial and risk advisory firm that is investing in the continued growth of its Accounting & Financial Reporting (A&FR) Advisory practice in New York.

We are interested in speaking with high-calibre professionals at Manager, Director and Managing Director level who combine strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise with a genuinely commercial mindset.

The practice is looking for people who want to develop client relationships, originate opportunities and help grow a business, while continuing to advise clients on complex accounting and transaction-related matters.

The level of commercial responsibility will increase with seniority. Managers will be supported in developing these skills; and the Managing Director appointment is a genuine build opportunity, with the ability to develop a client base and build a team from day one.

You will advise corporates, private equity firms and their portfolio companies on complex accounting, financial reporting and transaction-related challenges.

Technical accounting and financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS
M&A and transaction-related accounting
Business combinations and purchase accounting
SEC reporting and regulatory matters
Revenue recognition, leases, debt/equity and consolidation
Financial statement preparation and reporting
Accounting change and implementation
Pre- and post-transaction accounting matters
Supporting CFOs, Controllers and senior finance leadership through complex situations

The successful candidates will combine technical credibility, client leadership and commercial acumen.

**This is an opportunity for a technically strong Manager who wants to progress beyond pure project delivery and develop into a broader advisory and commercial role.
You will lead engagements and work directly with senior client stakeholders while being given the platform and support to start developing your own market relationships.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong delivery experience but, importantly, also has the personality, confidence and commercial aptitude to identify opportunities and win work over time.

The ambition is to develop future Directors and Managing Directors from within the practice.

**As a guide, evidence of having generated or influenced approximately $1m+ of revenue would be attractive, although the quality of your relationships, commercial judgement and ability to build are more important than a single number.

The position is a significant growth and build opportunity.
We are looking for an established Accounting & Financial Reporting Advisory leader with a strong record of origination and relationship development who wants the opportunity to build something.

From day one, you will have the ability to develop your own team, build out your client base and help shape the growth of the practice in New York.

The opportunity is to grow the platform over time — developing new relationships, expanding existing accounts, building a high-quality team and increasing revenues as the practice develops.

Strong C-suite, CFO, Controller, PE and/or corporate relationships
Credibility in complex accounting and financial reporting advisory
The ability to collaborate across complementary service lines and create broader opportunities

The MD profile you supplied illustrates the type of balance this level requires: technical accounting expertise alongside direct origination, market leadership and team building.

Candidates are likely to come from a Big Four, specialist accounting advisory, transaction advisory or CFO advisory environment.
