Summer 2027: Software Engineering Intern – Cybersecurity

Job Description

To qualify for US internships, you must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date after the internship/co-op ends. We have fixed start and end dates that are designed to work with various universities’ academic calendars.
Cohort 1: Monday, May 17 – Friday, August 6, 2027 (12 weeks)
Cohort 2: Monday, June 14 – Friday, September 3, 2027 (12 weeks)
As an intern or co-op, you’ll work on meaningful projects with business impact, many centered on AI and emerging technologies, and contribute to driving decisions. You’ll build skills through function-specific learning opportunities, connect with a global community of interns and co-ops through dedicated programming and social events, and get exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional work across Intuit’s product ecosystem. As a Software Engineering Intern on Intuit’s Cybersecurity (CTREC) team, you’ll help build the platforms, tools, and services that protect our customers’ financial data across TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp. Depending on your team placement, you’ll work on areas like identity and authentication, data protection, fraud and abuse prevention, secure development tooling, or threat operations – writing production code alongside experienced engineers and using AI tools to move faster and think bigger. No prior security domain experience is required; We’re cultivating a culture that values innovators, risk-takers, and imaginative thinkers, and we embrace experimentation and rapid prototyping to turn ideas into real impact. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with peers and mentors, gain hands-on experience applying best practices in software development, and build the skills to launch a rewarding career in tech.
Design, build, and test features across front-end, back-end, or full-stack systems that support Intuit’s cybersecurity mission.
Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews to help the team hold a high bar.
Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Partner with engineers, security specialists, and product managers to turn requirements into working software.
Support the deployment and ongoing maintenance of features you help ship.
Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program (associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, MBA, PhD, or the equivalent) with an expected graduation date after the internship ends
Familiarity with AI tools and a curiosity about how AI can be applied to solve real-world problems
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for the duration of the internship
Ability to work in a hybrid environment at an Intuit office location determined by your team and role (Relocation stipend will be provided)
Exposure to front-end frameworks (e.g., React) and/or cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) is a plus, depending on team placement.
Security domain knowledge is a plus but not required – we’ll build that as part of the internship.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the software development lifecycle
