The Rotary Wing Cargo Systems team within Collins Aerospace is seeking a student to join us as a Platform Systems Engineering Co-op for Spring/Summer 2027. Our team is responsible for the CH-47F Chinook helicopter flight deck for the US Army (CTES) customer. The selected engineer will come on board as a member of our platform systems engineering team and participate in avionics engineering tasks that are associated with the design, development, integration, and test of platform and software applications.
Participate in on-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness and Ad-Hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases).
Collaborate within an Agile-based development team of professional engineers.
The full experience of platform systems engineering activities from initial requirements capture all the way to supporting fielded products.
How to be successful in an Agile development environment.
Effective use of systems engineering tools such as DOORs, JIRA, JAMA, and the ALM tools suite.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Student must be pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in Engineering or STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Basic experience working within an aerospace related engineering development environment
Basic experience or knowledge of engineering/technology requirements capture and configuration management tools
Basic experience or an educational background covering requirements capture & definition, integration, verification & validation testing
