Job Description

Exbo Group is a team of investment bankers, consultants, and accountants that grew out of a $400M New York based venture capital fund. The fund’s portfolio companies had CEOs with strong visions and operating experience but lacked the technical financial experience to scale. The companies needed a way to off-load the complex administrative burden of running a finance department and interfacing with their investors. After providing accounting and financial assistance for a firm’s successful $10M Series A raise, several other funds and firms began to seek out Exbo Group’s assistance. Our team has grown substantially and now provides high-touch financial operations and CFO support to growth-stage companies nationwide from our New York headquarters.

Exbo Group is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team to help grow our Controllership practice. This individual will provide accounting, controlling, and financial operations to our current and future portfolio of growth-stage clients. As a Senior Associate, you will work directly with a team to implement best practices and support a full-service financial accounting function. Over time, you will establish yourself as the key accounting and financial operations resource to many of our clients. You will be responsible for executing general accounting operations (balance sheet schedules, AR, AP, chart of account management), drive month-end closing procedures, develop professional materials to be presented to clients, and help establish best practices and procedures for our accounting clients. This is an opportunity to become a critical member of our accounting team and join a rapidly growing premier consulting business with unlimited upside as we scale. Our expectation is for this individual to learn, grow, establish a deep understanding of the best accounting, and develop client communication skills to help support our clients through their next leg of growth. If successful, this individual has the opportunity to serve as the controller for our clients and over time manage team members themselves.
